About the Platform

Everything you need to know about tomaraki.

What is tomaraki.

tomaraki. is a free social platform for tennis players. It provides social features for all users (15+), and competitive features — challenges, tournaments, ATT rating and match recording — exclusively for players aged 18 and over.

Cost

The platform is completely free. You play at a court in your area — you pay nothing beyond any court fee you and your opponent choose.

Where do I play?

You book a court in your area and play there. If you can't find opponents nearby, we can connect you with tennis clubs in Athens we work with. In that case there may be a fee from the club.

To meet players near you, use Search or the Court Map.

How does the Challenge work? (18+)

You see a player you want to face, hit Challenge and send them an invitation. Once they accept, you message each other to agree on a date, time and court. You show up, play, and then each player separately records the score. Available only for users aged 18 and over.

How is the score recorded?

You record games per set — not individual points (15/30/40). The match structure is:

  • Set: The first to reach 6 games wins. Valid scores: 6-0, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 (normal win) or 7-5 (if the score reaches 6-5 and the leader wins one more). At 6-6 a tie-break is mandatory — 7-6 cannot be reached by normal games.
  • Tie-break (at 6-6): Played in points — first to 7 or as many as needed until there is a 2-point lead (e.g. 7-5, 8-6, 10-8…). The set score automatically becomes 7-6.
  • Match: Best of 3 — winner is the first to win 2 sets.
  • 3rd Set — Match Tie-break (super tie-break): If sets are 1-1, a match tie-break is played instead of a full 3rd set: first to 10 or as many as needed until there is a 2-point lead (e.g. 10-8, 11-9, 12-10…). It appears automatically in the form.

Example: 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 — first player won set 1 by 6-3, lost set 2 by 4-6, and won the match tie-break 10-8.

Score without a referee (18+)

There is no referee. Each player records the score independently. If the scores match, the match is automatically confirmed. If they disagree, the match goes to "disputed" status.

After the match you can also leave feedback about the opponent if you feel you were wronged. If a player accumulates many negative reports, they receive a penalty to their ATT score.

Tournaments (18+)

Tournaments are free and organised by users or by us. You can create a tournament just for you and your friends, or join an existing open one. Available only for users aged 18 and over.

ATT system (rating) (18+)

ATT (Amateur Tennis Tomarakia) is an Elo-based rating system, available only for 18+ users. You start with 1200 points. Each win or loss changes your points depending on the opponent's strength. There is a separate rating for overall ranking and ranking by gender. The ranking is visible to all users.

Safety & Disclaimer

Important: Challenges and tournaments involve adult users (18+) exclusively. tomaraki. is a player information and connection platform. It bears no liability, to the extent permitted by law, for anything that occurs during or after a match — any accident, injury, damage or incident on or off the court.

  • Make sure you know your opponent before meeting them (through the platform or otherwise).
  • Agree to play at a public or familiar venue.
  • If you have any doubts about your safety, do not proceed with the match.

Minor users (ages 15–17)

  • Minimum registration age: 15 years (under Article 21 of Law 4624/2019 — parental consent not required). By registering, the minor user accepts the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
  • Users aged 15–17 have access only to social features: profile, posts, messages and viewing the ATT ranking.
  • They do not participate in challenges, score recording, ATT rating or tournaments — and do not appear in the ranking.
  • Upon turning 18, the user will be asked to verify their mobile number, solely to ensure account uniqueness.
